Whitfield
Teacher/Department Chair
St. Louis, MO
In 2009, I received my undergraduate degree in biology from Missouri University of Science and Technology. I then received my PhD in pharmacological and physiologycal sciences from Saint Louis University in 2014. I conduced research on the anatomy and related behaviors of a newly-identified brain structure that affects the processing of rewards and motivation. During my time as a PhD and while I pursued postdoctoral studies, I worked as an adjunct instructor at Lindenwood University, Maryville University, and Saint Louis College of Pharmacy. For the past three years, I have been working at Whitfield School teaching 6th and 7th grade science. I am working to create a student-centered learning environment that emphasizes differentiation in instruction and assessment along with incorporating student choice.
